Hello. My brother, David Muir, and I are trying to reach you. Your James Martin Lott was the son of John G. Lott, who in turn was the son of Jesse Lott, Sr., who in turn was the son of George Lott, patriot, of Fairfield County, S.C. John G. Lott had a brother named George W. Lott, and I descend from him.

We are trying to locate James Martin Lott and his wife Jeanette Sarah Upshaw Lott in the 1850 census with no success. We recently obtained the wills of John G. Lott and James Upshaw. John G. Lott died in 1871. He stated in his will that he had already given Martin and a couple more of his children seed money and needed to take what he had left to give and distribute that to his other children. James Upshaw died in 1846. In his will, he referred to Jeanette as Jeanette S. Upshaw, meaning to us that she had not yet married Martin Lott.

Could you write to us and tell us whether James Martin and Jeanette moved away from Bartow or Forsyth County, Georgia shortly after they married and then died in some other place? We have seen Savannah Kate Lott at her grandmother's (Lucinda Ham Upshaw) home in 1860, so we assume James Martin and Jeanette died prior to 1860. Could you tell us what happened to them, if you know?

Thank you for any and all information.
