The file I have shows the first "Upshaw" identified in America was a "Jeremiah" who shows up in Virginia in 1667.
We believe his son was Captain William Upshaw, (abt 1670-1720) who first married Susanna (?) and they had two daughters, Susanna and Cordelia. He next married Hannah Forrest in abt 1701 and they had 9 children, including a son, Forrest (1718-1759). Forrest married Ann Hunt in 1749 and they had three children, including Leroy (1827-1876). Leroy married Elizabeth Bradley in 1769 in Bedford County Virginia, and they had ll children, including Drury (note the spelling..I have never seen "Drura") (born abt 1786 in Virginia and died 1846 in Douglas County MO). Drury married Frances "Frankie" Parnue and they had a son, Leroy (1827-1876,who married Lydia Parsons (1827- ?). They had 7 children, including a Drury, born about 1848, who eventually married Elizabeth Coates. Unfortunately I have no more information on that line. I do feel this is the line you are trying to trace, even with the few differences from the information you quoted. For further information I suggest you try the Upshaw Family Genealogy site again (with the spelling "Drury") or you contact a researcher who has spent considerable time with this line..Nancy Carter.
