I, too, have Upshaw ties. I noted on the Upshaw website that my lineage stops with Forrester Upshaw and Susan Jones. I will attempt to fill in the blanks here.
Forrester Upshaw was born 2/20/1845 in GA or AL and died January 21, 1890 in Van Alstyne, TX. He is buried in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. He married Susan Jones March 18, 1869 in Linden (Cass County) TX. Susan was the daughter of Fleming Jones and Mariah Cooper. Susan was born 10/11/1850 in Linden and died 11/26/1905 in Van Alstyne, TX. She is also buried in the Van Alstyne cemetery.
The children of Forrester and Susan are:
Susan Belle Upshaw (b. 10/29/1885, d. 7/26/1972)
Mary Estelle Upshaw (b. 2/6/1888, D. 3/18/1950)
Foy (Forest) Upshaw (b. 1874, d. 1963)
Idella Upshaw (b. 4/10/1870, d. 1/1962)
Middleton Upshaw (unsure of birth & death dates)
Susan Belle was my grandmother. She married James Robert Laughlin in June 1906 in Farmington, TX. James Robert (b. 6/16/2885, d. 7/9/1935) was the son of Thomas Laughlin and Susan Webb. The children of Susan Upshaw and James Laughlin are:
Evelyn Lorene Laughlin (b. 9/5/1926, d. 10/22/1994)
Thomas Lloyd Laughlin (b. 5/24/1916, d. 10/28/1993)
Mary Aline Laughlin (unsure of birth/death dates)
James Albert Laughlin (b. 5/14/1910, d. 11/2/1973)
Billy Glenn Laughlin (living)
I also have fairly extensive data on all of the decendents of these children, if anyone is interested.
