HI everyone. I have some information on the Honorable Jabez Upham. He served as a lawyer and jurist who represented the Worcester MA Dirstrict in Congress from 1997 to 1804. He also practiced law in Sturbridge Massachusetts. Jabez also had the distinction of being the maternal grandfather of Mr. Justice Horace Gray, formerly a judge of the MA Supreme Judicial Sourt, later its Chief Justice, and still later a Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Jabez was the son of Captain Phineas and Susanne Buckminster. Jabez graduated from Harvard in 1785. He had a wife Lucy Faulkner or Acton, MA. (born May 16th, 1770 and died January 23rd, 1828.
Their children Charlotte and Harriet and a possible Susanna.
I live in Jabez's mansion and the fine old colonial mansion still stands in perfect preservation and almost unequalled specimin of the generous, substantial and beautiful architecture of over two hundred years.
I am looking for his family because I would love to collect pictures of the house that I own.
The house is located at 43 East'South' Main Street (SOUTH) West Brookfield, Massachusetts.
