The individual you are asking about was George Opdyke b. 7dec1805, d. 1880, married to Elizabeth Stryker. His father was also George Opdyke, mother was Mary Stout. George was NYC Mayor 1861-63 and was a political crony of Abraham Lincoln's and a major contributor to his presidential campaign.
