Could Abraham Updike 1764?-1855 be a son of William Opdyke?

In regard to suggestions last year that Abraham Updike of near Albany, New York, ancestor of the Lisle Updike family, might have been a son of John Opdyke and Rebecca Wharton, I'm wondering whether he was John's brother instead and a son of William Opdyke and Nancy Carpenter. He named his eldest son William and had a daughter named Nancy, but none named Rebecca. The fact that he got married before 1792 indicates he was probably born around 1764 as was first suggested in the 1889 Opdyck genealogy, so could it be possible he was William's son since William was born about 1715?

I'm happy that the Y-DNA results show Lisle Updike's family is related to Johannes' documented descendants, but am anxiously awaiting the results from one of my Virginia cousins, which may take a few more months to be posted. Abraham's family was very prolific, so I hope to find a way we can connect him to the rest of the Opdycks-Updikes.
