General Wesley Clark's mother's family

This family name may be getting more attention if the General's candidacy for President advances. I am informed that his mother was Veneta Updegraff, born in Arkansas in 1906. At her death in the Hot Springs area in 1986 she was Veneta Clark. According to census records, her father was Robert, born about 1877 in St. Clair County, Mo. Her grandfather seems to be listed as "H.A." Updegraff, born in Ohio in about 1850. This suggests he was part of the Pennsylvania-Ohio family line that seems to be typical. Does this fit in with the information of anyone else using the Forum? Howard Sachs
