I just ran across your message wanting more information about the Wesley Upchurch (1817-1898) family.
I am a descendant of Wesley Upchurch's son James Madison Upchurch. James Madison Upchurch was my great grandfather.
I can give you the dates you are questioning in your message, and much much more.

You have more on Mary Padison (Patterson) Wesley's wife than I do.
Your info on Wesley is the same as what I have.
James Madison Upchurch was born Oct 4, 1846 in Buckhorn, Brown Co., Illinois, on July 19, 1870 he married Barbara Elizabeth Bradney (born Dec 16, 1851 and died April 5, 1922 in Timewell, Brown Co., Illinois). James Madison died Nov 20, 1927 in Timewell, Brown Co., Illinois.
Wesley and Mary had 11 children of which I have their names, marriages and deaths etc. (if you want them).
James Madison and Barbara Upchurch had 8 children of which I have their info also. The sixth child, Grace Ellen, was my grandmother.

Elmer James Upchurch was born in Missouri on April 22, 1871, married Katharine Elliott on May 15, 1900 in Brown Co., Illinois, had 4 children (I thought) and died on June 24, 1949 in Fresno, California (I didn't know about Fowler as the place he died). The children I have for him are:
Mildred, Wilma, Donald and Doris.
If I'm reading your message right -- Donald Upchurch born June 1, 1910 in Fresno, CA and died June 24, 1985 Fresno was married to Bessie Beatrice Hays (1911-2003) and George Alvin Upchurch born July 23, 1946 and "still kickin'" is your husband. Am I correct????
Then you go on to Nora Elizabeth Upchurch born Jan 4, 1873 in Illinois, married Francis Holtkamp Sept. 3, 1890 and she died April 22, 1891 in Brown Co., Illinois. (They had one child, Stella Elizabeth)
Irvin Sylvester Upchurch was born May 9, 1877 in Illinois, married Caltha E. Thompson Dec 25, 1898 Brown Co., IL and died March 5, 1919 in Versailles, Brown Co., IL. (they had five children.)
You also inquired about George W Upchurch, son of Wesley and Mary and the only child of theirs born in North Carolina. George was born Dec 22, 1843 and died June 26, 1929 in Idaho. He married Elizabeth Briggs on Aug 13, 1868 in Illinois. She was born 1850 in IL. and died in 1926 in Idaho. they had one child that I know of, Albertus (1869-1917).
Martha Upchurch was born Feb 13, 1849 in Illinois married James K.P. Briggs in Brown Co., IL on Jan 31, 1869. That's all I know about her.

I would like to know more about all of Elmer Upchurch's descendants. I have heard so much from my mother about Elmer's family and how he had moved his family "all the way out there to California". I now live in California, just east of Sacramento. When my mother was alive and visiting us in California (in the 1970's or 80's) she very much wanted to look up her relatives from Elmer's family who lived in Fresno. I don't know if she had any names or addresses, but I think she wrote to someone in the family who was around her age. She was born in 1903. Maybe it was Mildred or Wilma.
My mother was Grace Upchurch Yakle's second child, Christena and she married Wyverne Painter.
