My Charles Wesley Upchurch was b. 1853 in Stanly County, NC. His parents were Patrick Bogan Upchurch & Eunice McSwain. The family moved to Arkansas somewhere during the 1843-1959 period. Charles married Julina Perrine in 1873 in Conway County, AR.
I'm not familiar with your Charles whose mother was Manerva Preston. If they were in this same area of Arkansas prior to moving to Oklahoma, then they definitely could be part of my clan.
