Per information I have on HOWELL UPCHURCH he had a daughter named NANCY UPCHURCH b. abt. 1822 who md. AARON N. ROGERS. Nancy's siblings had some of our ROGERS names as well, such as NANCY ROGERS, NANCY CELIA ROGERS, WILLIAM RILEY ROGERS b. 1805 Montgomery Co.NC ; and we also have several Martha's as well. When I look at the HOWELL UPCHURCH files, I can't help wondering if they have a connection to our Rogers. So far, we have nothing in our ROGERS lines that would verify AARON N. ROGERS who md. NANCY UPCHURCH would be one of our ROGERS family members. However in the STANLY CO. NC Library files are notes by a researcher who had confused our WILLIAM ROGERS genealogy and she had placed AARON N. RODGERS and Nancy on the STANLY CO. NC 1860 census with children with below enumerations : Stanly Co. NC Census 1860 Aaron N. RODGERS age 35 MW Nancy " 38 FW Susan Rodgers 16 FW Sarah A. " 14 MW Jacob J. " 12 MW Abram A. 9 MW Reubin C. " 5 MW Matthew W. " ( b.7/28/1857 3 MW John I. 1/12 MW William Robert Andrew J. ( b. 1863) John I. Since this census note is on same page with notes on our WILLIAM ROGERS/RODGERS b. 1770 NC I have to wonder if AARON N. RODGERS would be one of our ROGERS as well. Our William Rogers has following information : WILLIAM L. ROGERS b. 1770 Montgomery Co. NC d. 1842 Carroll Co. TN. He married NANCY UNKNOWN and they had 11 children all born in Montgomery Co. NC. William Rogers b. 1770 was a son of JAMES ROGERS JR. b. abt. 1746 Anson Co. NC who had other children who are : Frederick Rogers b. abt. 1765 NC; John Rogers b. abt. 1775 NC; Zachariah Rogers b. bet. 1770-1780. We know our William Rogers sold his lands in Montgomery Co. NC along Long Creek on Feb. 18, 1823 to MATHIAS BARRINGER. The deed has name of WIlliam Rogers, Basil Rogers was a witness ( son of William and Nancy Rogers ) and E. McLester was another witness to this 1823 Montgomery Co. NC deed which was filed later on in about 1880 Stanly Co. NC. Nancy Upchurch married Aaron N. Rodgers/Rogers. She is the NANCY on the 1860 Stanly Co. NC census notes above. Her siblings names are similar to names of our children of WILLIAM L. ROGERS and wife NANCY ROGERS. Our WILLIAM RILEY ROGERS b. 1805 Montgomery Co. NC and the WILLIAM RILEY UPCHURCH b. 26 Apr. 1824 in Montgomery Co. NC. Our Nancy Celia Rogers b. 1809 Montgomery Co. NC and the Nancy Ann Upchurch b. 1822 NC and the Celia Upchurch b. 1829 Montgomery Co. NC. It looks like the UPCHURCH line is naming children for our ROGERS to me, but then that may just be because those were popular names then ? I have the HOWELL UPCHURCH WILL naming his children and it is dated on Nov. 23, 1843. He left his daughter NANCY ROGERS 1 cow & claf, 1 colt from my blind Baily mare when foaled;; $10.00. 24 Feb. 1844. This will was probated on Nov. Sessions in 1846 on oaths of LEMUEL DEBERRY & SARAH RANDLE; codicil proved on oaths of JOSEPH ALLEN & JOHN R. P. SNUGS; WILLIAM SWEARINGEN received letters testamentary, and D. HEARNE was the CLK. Any more info on this line of NANCY UPCHURCH and AARON N. ROGERS/RODGERS would be appreciated as to his parentage or any other information on him.
