I am in the process of abstracting Jackson Co., TN Microfilm Reel #121, TN State Library & Archives, gives many relationships from Loose Court Papers. I should be through in 3-4 weeks, and it will be published on USGenWeb's Jackson Co. site. Gilliam Upchurch b c1810 md Rhoda Anderson, d/o Nancy & Caleb Anderson. This is proven on Reel #124. They had two proven children:
1. H. Ross Upchurch b c1834
2. Carter Upchurch b 4 July 1836
Both these men applied for CSA Civ War pension.
Gilliam Upchurch md 2nd Eliza Jones, widow of Unknown Jones. She had at least one son from her previous marriage, James Jones. Eliza collected a USA pension of $144 year because a son of hers died in the Civ War. After her death abt 1894, Gilliam applied and collected it until his death 1898-1899.
Gilliam and Eliza had these proven children, but I'm not through with the reel so there could be more:
1. Thomas Upchurch b c1844
2. John M. Upchurch b 1850
William Upchurch b 1847 in Gilliam & Eliza's hh USC 1850 could be their son, but he hasn't been proven. Again, not through with the reel. The James Upchurch listed age 9 could possibly have been James Jones, s/o Eliza from her first marriage.
