Weekly Standard Newspaper, Raleigh, NC--May 04, 1859
On the 6th ult., at his late residence in Wake county, of consumption after an illness of eleven months, Hubbard Upchurch, in the 60th year of his age. The deceased had, for the last 7 years of his life, been an acceptable member of the Baptist Church, and in his death he has sustained the loss of a zealous member, the county a good citizen, those around him a correct and upright neighbor and his family a kind and affectionate parent and husband.
