Louis b GER d LIC NY 1910
Sunday July 3, 1910 Brooklyn Standard Union Obituaries:
Louis UNVERZAGT died yesterday at his home, 25 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City. He was the proprietor of a barber shop just one block from Borough Hall, in Jackson avenue, which was patronized by hundreds of men daily, who
are connected with public affairs in the borough. His place has been singled out as the "official barber shop" since the advent of Borough President GRESSER into power. Prior to that time, during the CASSIDY days, Farley
MAYER, who died a week ago, claimed the official patronage at Miller's Hotel. But Mr. UNVERZAGT was famous locally long before Mr. GRESSER went to his shop, for he had been in business within a stone's throw of his present
location for nearly thirty years. He was noted for his philosophical sayings, all tempered with wit, and his comments on current events. Mr. UNVERZAGT was
born in Germany forty-seven years ago. He is survived by a widow, three daughters and a son. I am not related & have no other info.
