MONTEZUMA - Ida Toews, 86, died early this morning, Sept. 14, 2000, at Bethel Home Inc., Montezuma, where she had been a resident since 1988. She was born Sept. 1, 1914, at Las Animas, Colo., the daughter of Peter T. and Dina (Buller) Unruh.
On Nov. 4, 1945, she married Lloyd Toews at Montezuma. They lived in the Scott City area for most of their married life. He died Sept. 18, 1988. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Abraham Unruh, Tobias Unruh, John Unruh, Cecil Unruh and Henry Unruh; and four sisters, Elizabeth Frank, Nettie Koehn, Lena Unruh and Emma Unruh.
A homemaker, Mrs. Toews was a member of Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Montezuma.
She is survived by three brothers, Cornelius Unruh and David Unruh, both of Montezuma, and Frank Unruh, West Point, Miss.; and two sisters, Lydia Koehn and Vada Unruh, both of Montezuma.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Montezuma. Edwin Classen, Richard Koehn and Charles Schmidt, ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in North Mennonite Cemetery, Montezuma.
Visitation hours are from 6 to 8 tonight and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Montezuma Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home Inc., in care of the funeral home, Box 421, Montezuma, KS 67867.
