I am looking for information on Edward Hanson, born in New Zealand and at some time migrated to the United States, where records reveal that in the town of Tuftonborough, New Hampshire at 21 years of age he signed aboard the USS “Vandalia” as an Ordinary Seaman in the U.S. Navy as a substitute for another individual; on August 17, 1864, for a period of three years. He is also listed as having served aboard the U.S.S. "Colorado" and was discharged from the "Colorado" on September 7, 1867 at the expiration of his period of service. Any help will be appreciated. jamesmgray@bigpond,com
