MJ- I communicate with a gentleman (Keil Lovell in Surprise AZ) whose grandmother saw an Underwood Bible in the 1930's. The following is a direct quote from his email- which he says was copied verbatim from the Bible. Hope it helps. Pat Pat: Here is the information that was copied from the Underwood Bible. (Keep in mind that many dates are, sometimes, made by "guest-a-mation" and "I think.") QUOTE: (verbatim.) "Copied from the old UNDERWOOD bible by Anna Underwood Wilson." (Anna was a school teacher, well educated and had the most brilliant writing ability; both by hand and by mind.) "Note: This Bible contained the Apocrypha and was published in 1832." "Preston Underwood & Elizaeth C. M. Doherty were married December 15, 1833. (This may have been their bible and the beginning of recording this information.) Preston Underwood was born the 20th of December 1806. Casander E. M. Underwood was born March 27, 1816. Their children. (The first family.) John Moore, January 1, 1834 Margret M. A. (George Underwood was Elijah Underwood's brother.) Deaths: Elijah Underwood, August 30 1814." There are also MILLER'S, SMITH'S & BALDRIDGE'S who married into the Underwood families; both female and male spouse's. (If you need information about the MILLER'S, SMITH'S or the BALDRIDGE'S let me know.) No information about any McLaughlin's. Due to our limited time in Princeton, MO we were not able to read all of the Mercer Co., MO history books published by various local persons. Notify Administrator about this message?
