From the Healdton Herald published at Healdton, Carter Co., Oklahoma: July 18, 1963 Services for Underwood Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Missionary Baptist Church for ALBERT J. “GERALD” UNDERWOOD, 65, who died July 10 in Santa Pauls, California, of a heart ailment. He is a well known former resident of Healdton and related to many people here. Rev BURTIS WILLIAMS of the Missionary Baptist Church conducted the service. Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery arranged by Collier Undertaking. He was born at Hewitt March 19, 1898. He and his wife MOLLIE reared a nice family here prior to moving to California 10 years ago. He was a long time employee of Larry Eakin Lumber Co. here. He was a tree pruner in a lemon grove in California. Surviving are his wife, MOLLIE; six sons, LEON of Mountain Home, Arkansas, BAYD, WAYNE, DEARL LEE, and JERRY all of Santa Paula; three daughters, Mrs. CECIL “DOROTHY” OGLETREE of Orange, California, Mrs. JACKIE EMBERLIN/EMBERLING of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Mrs. CHRISTINE BIVENS of Santa Paula; 17 grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters, among them, BILL UNDERWOOD of Ringling and Mrs. EDDIE PERKINS of Peabody, Kansas. Among the out of town friends here for the funeral were Mrs. CORDIE WILLIAMS of Norman and Mrs. BETTY ZINK of Lindsay. Notify Administrator about this message?
