UNDERHILL, wife of H.B. UNDERHILL, Esq. [Staunton, Va., papers please copy.] >>Saturday, 22 June 1861<< THE FUNERAL of MRS. H.B. UNDERHILL -- The attendance on the funeral of Mrs. H.B. UNDERHILL, yesterday, was the largest ever witnessed in this city. The services were by Rev. J.A. ANDERSON; his church was filled, and the moistened eyes bore witness of the sympathy for the bereaved husband and relations of 'one who has but gone before.' The deceased was among those who first settled in Stockton, and her friends and acquaintances extended with the growth of our city. Having been an earnest laborer as teacher in our public schools, she had endeared herself to the children of Stockton, as well as gained the respect of the parents. Death in striking a mark like this, causes the minds of our citizens to ponder over that event which is inevitable, and to which we all are marching on. Notify Administrator about this message?
