great grandfather was John Underhill of Kidderminister, England. His great grandmother was Alice Daffern.
The great grandfather John Underhill was born about 1857 and died in England. Alice Daffern was born in England and died in 1909 shortly after giving birth to John Albert Underhill.
We know of at least one other child, Sarah Underhill who married John Mills.
John Underhill was unable to care for John Albert after the death of Alice. The baby John Albert was taken by Sarah and John Mills and bought to the States about 1911.
John Albert went by the surname of Mills until adulthood and then reverted to John Albert Underhill is birth name.
