Steve: There was too many John Underhills in England, not sure if this fits but my great-great grandfather John (b-1840)Underhill came to Canada and then the U.S. his father's name was John ( born-abt 1816) (rest was unknown) but a year ago I discovered a Bible from a John Underhill Baptist Minister in Liverpool who gave to his grandson (my ancester)this bible in 1846. With this info. someone in England has filled in the Underhill line back to the 1200's. The old stuff agrees with the info in the Underhill Society records. Now we are both looking at the Glass Blower John Underhill in the 1841 census. Glad to share what I have and would be interested to know what son of the 1816 John is your ancester. (
