I am trying to find out how Charlotte UNDERHILL, born probably 1775-1790, who married William PARTIN in Orange County, NC is connected with the Underhills who lived in Wake County, NC. She seems to be about the same age as Giles Underhill (1788 in VA-1880)who was in Wake County, NC by 1809 when he married Susanna Bunch and was still in Wake County at the time of the 1860 census. In 1870 & 1880 he was listed in adjoining Johnston County, NC. He seems to be the oldest Underhill in Wake County. Could he and Charlotte be siblings?
Giles' grandson Gary Archibald Underhill (1855-1900 in Wake County, NC) married another Partin connection, Martha RIGGSBEE(1857-1916). Martha was born in Orange County, NC and died in Raleigh, Wake County. She was the daughter of Martha Partin (1823) and Joseph J. Riggsbee (1829). This Martha Partin was the daughter of an Unknown Partin, born about 1790 & died about 1827 who was married to Temperance MERRITT of Orange County.
