Thanks for getting back to me. Fascinating subject isn't it.
The Richard we refer to b c 1760. Had three surviving children; Richard b 1784 d 1830 he married Mary? a daughter Mary b 1787 d 1860 and my gg Grandfather George m Mary Ferris. They had three children who died tragically in 1850 during a cholera epidemic. William aged 9; John aged 5, and Amelia aged 3. (Found their little tombstone opposite the Church door at Dittisham, which left me a little misty eyed)Two years later they had William Edgar who m Laura Smaridge. They had three surviving children; Una; May; and my Grandfather William Arthur. I remember him very well.
This next bit is hearsay! Una had two childen out of wedlock a frightful shame on the family. She was made to live with the servants after. The children (sadly can't remember their names) were brought up by her sister May.
