Hello, after nearly 20 years, I finally got a break through my "brick wall". My grandfather, William Henry PACE worked for the railroad and could have been anywhere in a five state area which made research nearly impossible. Recently, I came across some information that has blown all that research wide open! I knew that my grandfather had married a Gladys UNDERDOWN, but we had no other info and didn't know where to start looking. Here is what I have so far:
Generation No. 1
1. JAMES L.1 PARKS was born April 1837 in Ohio. He married MOLLIE UNKNOWN. She was born March 1839 in IN.
Children of JAMES PARKS and MOLLIE UNKNOWN are:
2. i. JENNIE2 PARKS, b. December 1855, Iowa.
ii. CHARLES F. PARKS, b. September 1879, Nebraska.
Generation No. 2
2. JENNIE2 PARKS (JAMES L.1) was born December 1855 in Iowa. She married UNKNOWN AUGHE. He was born in Nebraska.

3. DELLA N.3 AUGHE (JENNIE2 PARKS, JAMES L.1) was born March 1884 in KS. She married WILLIAM UNDERDOWN 31 December 1900 in Fremont, Dodge Co., NE, son of WILLIAM UNDERDOWN and MARTHA WILSON. He was born February 1879 in MO.
Notes for WILLIAM UNDERDOWN:
In 1900, William was working as a hired man for Gottfried Luthy. He was listed as 20 yrs. old. Douglas Co., NE Census, sheet 8 A, pg. 90, Waterloo Precinct by Wm James Mack. He died before 1920 as his wife is listed as a widow with two daughters.

4. GLADYS4 UNDERDOWN (DELLA N.3 AUGHE, JENNIE2 PARKS, JAMES L.1) was born 1902 in Nebraska. She married WILLIAM HENRY PACE 07 March 1919 in NE, son of CHARLES PACE and LURENA DEASON. He was born 10 January 1895 in Lowell, Benton Co.,AR, and died 10 February 1980 in Nokomis, Montgomery Co.,IL.
Notes for GLADYS UNDERDOWN:
Gladys and William apparently divorced by 1922 because he married again in OK that year. Oral family tradition says that after the divorce, Gladys moved to Illinois with her baby son, but that may not be true.
