I recently read with interest your 2/18/06 post to the Genealogy.com message board re Christopher Unangst, Swartzwood, NJ. He is my 1st cousin 3 times removed. Our common ancestor is Peter S. Kinney. Christopher's mother Mary Jane Kinney Unangst was my great great grandmother (Martha Catherine Kinney Tomer Miller)'s sister. Their father is Peter S. Kinney. Both of those women have a large posterity. I am also aware of others who descended from Peter Kinney,. On the Unangst side, I believe Christopher's father, John Unangst was born about 1823 and I think his father was Jacob Unangst (b. 1781). I know of three of John's brothers: Barnet, Elijah and Peter Unangst, and at least one sister, Rebecca. My records however differ from yours in one important regard. You have Christopher's wife as Nettie Snover. That may be, but both the 1910 and 1920 census show him married (around 1900) to a woman named Mary E. ___________. The 1910 census entry indicates they were married in about 1900. So I assume that Nettie Snover married him before 1900. and that he had a second marriage to the above Mary E ________, around 1900. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find Christopher Unangst listed in the 1880 or the 1900 census. I am sure that you could fill in many of the blanks. As you will see, all of my records are well documented. Are you interested in exchanging information? If you can read records in gedcom format, I can share that way. If you can't read this easily, let me know and I will send it to you in some other format, such as a family group chart in .rtf format readable by Microsoft Word. I am already in communication with Mr. Leroy Sternhagen who replied to your earlier posting about Christopher. Best regards, Fred Heidenreich Tucson, Arizona Notify Administrator about this message?
