MARY J. UMPHRESS MOORE was born June 23, l86l, near Lineville, in Missouri, died at her home near Lineville August l7, l9l6. She was married to MILTON MOORE in December, l880. She united with the L.D.S. Church 24 years ago and continued in faith until death. She was the mother of eight children. All of the children were not present at the funeral as they lived in the west where word could not be sent them quickly.
The funeral was held Friday, August l8, l9l6, at l0:00 o'clock a.m., the services being conducted by Elder M.M. Turpen. Interment followed in the MOORE Cemetery four miles west of Lineville. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all.
