Hi,

I am descended from Stoke Umfress:

J Stokely Ellis Umfress, born September 04, 1863 in Itawamba Co.,
MS; died July 19, 1951 in Itawamba Co., MS. He was the son of Middleton C
Umfress and Lucinda Downs. He married 15. Margie Louella Moore December 25,
1887 in Itawamba Co., MS.

I don't have any documentation, but it's possible that Henry Anderson Umfress was of the same line. Middleton C. Umfress' father was John James H Humphreys, Sr.

I don't think that Middleton Umfress was Henry's father, because I have a note that says Middleton Umfress was killed 12/13/1867 in Tishomingo County.

However, my family always said that we were somehow related to Victor Umfress of Fulton, MS , so perhaps Middleton was Henry's uncle.
