My parents and I went to Tyler County, West Virginia, to research some of the records they have there on the Uminsetters. We found a few records but nothing recording Sarah Matilda Uminsetter's birth. E. B listed Tyler County as her place of birth on her marriage certificate. She was married to Dan Palmer who was from Wood County, West Virginia. Sarah was Gladys Palmer's mother. We can't seem to find anything on her. She divorced Dan Palmer and took Gladys with her. Gladys was around 15 yrs. at the time. Sarah just seems to have disappeared. She had two sons too. Jean and Eugene Palmer. No mention of what happened to them. Would be very interested in seeing the picture you have of Ely B Uminsetter and Gladys Palmer. Which spelling is correct----Uminsetter or Umensetter?
