Hi everybody,
You may be interested in knowing where Umerez surname comes from.
Umerez is a surname whose first trace is found in 1477 in Oņati, which is a town in the province of Gipuzkoa in Euskal Herria or the Basque Country (which is in between France and Spain, our more significant cities are Bilbao and San Sebastian).
Umerez was the name of a house from Oņati, it was very usual in our country that a family took the name of the house they lived in.
