Wondering if anyone has any info on umberson's from Newfoundland.
i do not have much but I think my great-grandmother was a Mary Ann umberson, she married a Joseph Butt. He was born 1862 and she was born 1867. They had a daughter Minnie Butt born oct. 1889 or 1883 who married William Snow and lived in Lewisporte all their lives.
Some of my family recently visited Bell Island and came back with some pictures of miners at the museum there.
There is a Butt in the picture(name was not giving for sure) but he looks so much like me we could have been brothers, people could not believe it when they saw it. His name was William Harold Butt, we think. He was born Sept. 10, 1901 and was married to Mary Bailey McClure. His father was William Miles Butt born Aug. 26 1860 died 1928.
Trying to find the connection between Minnie Butt, our grandmother and this William Harold Butt
