Hello, my name is Kimberly Umberson. Just a little info on me-I am 16 years old and I live in California. I love School. I play the piano and clarinet and am a sucker for reading and researching while preparing myself for my future as a police officer. But before I get that far ahead in my life, I am trying to dig up information about my family surnames roots. I already know that my great grandfather moved here from Lincolnshire, England. His-I don't know what you call them-transfer/new citizenship papers where filed in Blackpool, England. My father says that his father(my grandfather)once heard of our family coat of arms, but had never got the chance to see it.Also, he knows that a long time before my family came to america, that our surname was orignally HummerStone, which was changed over the years to Herbertson, some other variations, then it bacame Humberson. But that was changed when he became an american citizen. So I am seeing if any one here may be of any help. What is the truth behind the Umberson/Humberson/Hummerstone name, and what is the Family coat of arms? Thank you to all that reply.
