George Henry Umber b. 9-19-1840, New York City, d. Aug. 11, 1914 in Brooklyn. He married twice....one spouse was Margaret Cecilia Coats b. 1842, New York and d. 1920 Roy, Weber County, Utah. The second was Addie M. (can't read last name). It appears from military pension records that he never divorced Margaret before marrying Addie so his marriage to her was void.
George's parents are believed to be a John Henry Umbach(or Benjamin) of Germany, and a "Hannah" of England.....anyone have further info. on John/Benjamin and Hannah?....Does anyone have Hannah's maiden surname? Their 5 children appear to have all been born in New York City...(Lewis, Henry, Mary, George and Eliza) does anyone know when (sometime before 1838) and how they immigrated?
