There were a number of Umberson families in Conception Bay North area of Newfoundland in the mid and late 1800's. My husband is a descendant (great grandson) of Olive Levinia Umberson and Mark Trickett. They married in 1889. I have found very little about the family. There are currently no Umberson's listed in the Newfoundland telephone directories so I am assuming that all the males probably left Newfoundland for better economic conditions, most likely in the New England States. Does anyone have any Umberson ancestors that may have spent any time in Newfoundland?
