Rose,

I just wrote a post to you in answer to your post to me about David Harkrader and Molly Umbarger. I am a direct descendant of the Darter/Tarter family. Nicholas Jr's daughter, Sarah Tarter, was my great grandmother.

Though I am not descended from the others that you mention, I believe that I have all or most all of those names in my records. In the early days of Wythe Co. there were many marriages between my Browns, Darters, Roeder/Raders, and others that I found that I have many of those people as distant relatives.

I'm sorry that your family is not interested in genealogy. I have a brother who made the statement years ago that he didn't know any of those people and they were all dead so he didn't care anything about it. So, I know what you mean.

I would appreciate and information on the Darter/Tarter, mbarger/Umberger, Repass, and Hounshell families. I have a number of connections to the Repass family. Two Repass brothers and a cousin married three of my great grandfather's sisters.

Thanks,
Tom
