Joseph Frank Umberger
Joseph Frank Umberger, 72, of Wytheville, Va., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kevin Fiorini. Interment will be in Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church cemetery. He was a member of the Wythe County Farm Bureau and a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney A. and Neta Rakes Umberger; and two brothers, Richard and Leon Umberger. Survivors include his wife, Doris Henderson Umberger of Wytheville, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Sam Frye of Wytheville, Va.; grandchild and spouse, Lisa and Jimmy Wiedl of Wytheville, Va.; two great-grandchildren, Ben Wiedl, and Crystal Wiedl, both of Wytheville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grubb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
