The Wytheville Enterprise 1 July 2003 James Frankie Mathena James Frankie Mathena, 62, of Scott Depot, W.Va., and formerly of the Black Lick community in Wythe County, Va., died Friday, June 27, 2003. Funeral services will be Monday, June 30, at 2 p.m. in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel, Wytheville, Va. Interment will be in the Marvin United Methodist Church Cemetery in the Black Lick community of Wythe County, Va. He was a retired Rite Aid driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Gertie Umberger Mathena; and a sister, Barbara Ann Mathena. Survivors include wife, Hazel Umbarger Mathena of Scott Depot, W.Va.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary Allen and Virginia Mathena of Atkins, Va., and Jeffrey Wayne Mathena of Scott Depot, W.Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Lynn and Brian Odell, of Scott Depot, W.Va.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several cousins. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Black Lick Cemetery Fund, Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
