I don't know about a William Ulrich, Chicago butcher, but maybe I can help by stirring in another ingredient or two.
Barney and Phil Ulrich, friends I shared with my father, were sons of a Chicago banker. The time would be about right- Phil was a USMC officer during WWII, and Barney was an engineer in a defense related industry. I don't know if it was before or after the war that they ended up in Corpus Christi, Tx.
I am interested in contacting other family members if they are out there.
