Ernest W. Ullrich, Eckhausen to Baltimore

My gr.gr.gr. grandfather was Ernst W. Ullrich (Ulrich). I believe he was born near Eckhausen around 1820 and emigrated to America around 1846. He married Magdalena (Lena) and was the Father of Elizabeth, Rosina (my gr. gr. grandmother), Julia, Catherine, John J., and Emma Ullrich. Does anyone know of him or Ullrichs from Eckhausen. Also, does anyone know if there is significance to spelling Ullrich with one L or two. I find the family name spelled both ways in census information, but I've decided to go with the double L that I find in the obituary of Ernest W. Ullrich and the marriage announcment printed in the paper for Rosina?
