Actually, default pronunciation in Castillian Spanish is to stress the the second to the last syllable. Only when the emphasis is on another syllable is an accent mark used. As the usual pronunciation of our name Ulloa is u-YO-a, no accent is needed over the o.

Francisco Ulloa is the earliest Ulloa I am aware of. He explored the western shores of Mexico and the Baja peninsula in a voyage of 1538-1539. He was given an encomineda of Guachinango and the subjects of Acatitlan, Cuyutlan and Mistlan, by Guzman in 1536. It is located in western Jalisco past Tequila. There must have been other Ulloas that came in the late 1500, as there are several weddings dated 1590 and 1593 in Mexico City that included Ulloas. I hope this is useful, keep in touch.
