Joan,
My apologies for not responding to your email earlier. We have been beseiged by illness and have had little time for genealogy. However, I do not want to lose track of you. I think there is a possibility that your Thomas Ullman is an uncle or brother to our James Ullman born in West Virginia about 1836. A West Virginia site indicates James' father was John Ullman who married Chloe Hodges and they were the parents of four or five sons including Thomas Ullman and/or Tom Ullman.
