Hi.My name is Anna McGuire and I am the great great grand daughter of Inez Ulery from Goshen, Indiana. She was the daughter of Jacob Ulery and married John McGuire in Rangoon, Burma where they were missionaries.My Aunt Lotta's maiden name was Lotta Purl and I have a picture of Jerome Purl.I also have the newspaper clipping announcing the wedding of Miss Susan Lorene Butts and Jerome Purl Ulery.The whole clipping reads as follows:
Butts-Ulery Wedding
At the West Side home of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Ulery at 3 o'clock this afternoon the wedding of Miss Susan Lorene Butts and Jerome Purl Ulery occurred in the prescence of about forty friends and relatives of the contracting parties.Rev. William P. Pearce of the First Baptist curch officiated.The bride who is a charming young lady, was cosutumed in a beautiful gown of whilte organdie.After the ceremony an eleborate dinner was served and the happy couple were dirven to thier pleasoant home on South Main street.Tomorrow evening a reception will be given in thier honor at the home of Solomon Ulery.A large number of young people have invited.
Solomon Ulery is crossed out and another name has been handwritten over it, but it is illegible.I would be glad to e-mail you a scan of the clipping and the picture if you are interested.
