My mother was lying, as she was afraid of something.

I wish it was that simple. My mother lied her whole life it think. I have found that she spelled her name 3 different ways. She told me she was from Russia but made a statement declaring she was from her "home land" Poland. And not I revieved a letter today sayind she was from Nilipowka which may be mis-spelled and is really Filipovka, Russia.

She was something as she told the funeral director she was from Poland, and all my life she told me she was from Russia.

I am so confused... she lied on her marriage papers, and to Social Securiety also. I have that number. As for citizenship I have not been able to get that info yet.

I am trying to find a data base.

Plus to day I got a letter for the USA Millitary. I learned I have a sister that was born before me. I knew about her, but is was very different to see records which gave her birth date. What happened to her and a brother I know was born in Germany I have no idea.

What she was hiding.. I can only suspect, she either gave away my brother or killed him at birth. Who knows. People of that period under conditions of dispair... what are they capable of doing?

I only wish I could get some closure, yet with each bit of information I obtain another door opens to more questions.

Thanks
