Obvious answer would be that the street signs in Ukraine are in Cyrillic alphabet. Never been to Ukraine. Do check out Ukraineforums site as I am sure Hania will provide an answer for you.
You might want to check into an International Road signs and learn Ukrainian word for please and thank you.
