I am totally confused on where to try to find my grandfather's Birth Records
He shows so many different ethnic backgrounds, I don't know where to look for his Church to find any records on his birth.
His name is Julian CIUCH, born June 11, 1894
He came to America in 1913. No other immediate family members came here.
WHAT IS HIS ETHNIC BACKGROUND??????
1913- Arrival to America, on ship's manifest he shows: Ruthenian, from Wola
Jakubowa, Galacia
1917- WWI Draft Registration, he says he is Austrian, born in Sambor,
Galacia, Austria
1917- Application for Marriage License, he says he was born in Austria
1917- Marriage Records from Church, he says he was born in Sambo, Galacia
1920- Census, shows he was born in Russia, Ethnic-Polish
1928- Declaration of Intention, says he was born in Sambor, Poland
1930- Census, says he was born in Ukraine, Ethnic-Ukranian
1935- Petition For Citizenship, say he was born in Sambor, Poland
Ethnic-Ukranian, was a subject of "The Republic of Poland"
1936- Certificate of Citizenship, say his former nationality is Polish
1936- Social Security Application, says Place of Birth-Poland
So What Is His Nationality????
Polish, Ukranian, Austrian, or Russian ??????
I am trying to find out where to go to find his birth records, and other family members.....CAN ANYONE HELP ????
He went to Ukranian Catholic Church here in America.
