Krzyzanowski / Atamaniuk
I now have better info than in my prior posting, if anyone could offer any help with these names. I know now that my gr grandfather was Theodore (Fedor) Krzyzanowski, possibly from Krakow (his father possibly John), Theodore served in the military around 1880's-1890's. My gr grandmother was Katherine Atamaniuk, probably of Ukraine, and their children were John and Andrew born in the village of Popielniki near Sniatyn 1890's. Katherine died 1890's and the young boys were raised by their Atamaniuk grandparents. Andrew joined the merchant marines and immigrated to Alberta approx 1913. Theodore re-married after Katherine's death, possibly to a woman named Maria, and had other children who may also have immigrated to Canada.
Thanks again for the info in my older post "Popielniki" and any additional help.
