Sabo, Sabovik, Boksan, Paraczaniaz family names
Hi,
I just wanted to make a post for the family names listed above, who came for the Village of "Turitsa", "Turycja", and "Turytsia", which are names for all the same village depending on what map you look at.This village is the country now is the Ukraine....the section or state isZakarpatska, and the District or County is Perechyn. Is there any chance of being able to get Birth or Baptism Records from this Area.I have Four family Member that were born here.
1. Vasil Sabo or Sabovik born:December 15, 1886.
2. John or Janos Sabo (Sabovik) born: abt. 1885
3. Julia Sabo/Sabovik born: February 13, 1890
4. Michael or Mayka born abt. Abt. 1899
All four children shared the same mother "Julia Paraczaniaz (Parasenec or Parasincz) spelling of the name change from each document.Julia was first married to a John/Janos Sabo/Sabovik and then married Ivan Sabovik Boksan.Parents most like died in that seem village. This family also belonged to the Greek Catholic Church in that Village, and aremost likely buried in the Church Cemetery.
Now, three of the children came to American between 1910-1911.John, and Vasil arrived in New York in November of 1910, and Julia arrived in America on October 6, 1911.According to Ship Manifest they came from the area known as Nagyturna. Now, Michael Sabo/Sabovik I believe moved out of the Ukraine area into Czech., now Slovak Republic, I believe the town is Michalovce. How does one locate documents from there? Thanks so much for your help, Cathi Gross
