Looking for Spector from Semenivka (Ukraine)
I am looking for any information about the elder children from family of Spector immigrated to the USA Philadelphia in 1912 – 1913. Their place of origin was village Semenovka Lysyanskiy region Cherkassy province Ukraine (using modern country borders). In this village flowed river Gniliy Tikich. Parents (father Zinoviy (Zeid) mother’s name we don’t know) and junior children left in Ukraine. Junior children were:
§ Zinaida (1910) my grandmother. She was the youngest.
§ Anatoliy (Natan)
§ Lev
§ Samuil
§ Polina (Polya)
During WW II my grandmother’s father, mother and sister Polina were killed by Nazi in Babiy Yar in Kiev.
Before WW II they received some letters and photos, but during WW II almost all papers were lost. Now I have only one photo of my grandmother’s father Zinoviy (Zeid) Spector that could be scanned.
Also I have 3 photoes of grandmother’s nephews (children of brother) dated 1927 and 1928 years. Two of them are printed in “Forward photo studio@ S.W.Cor. 7th & Wolf Sts, Phila., Pa.
After WW II with the help of Red Cross Spectors from USA found junior children left in Ukraine. They wrote to Samuil, after the war he lived in Odessa. But he was a communist and in all documents he wrote that he had no relatives abroad and was afraid to answer this letter.
The dream of my grandmother to the very moment of her death was to find her brothers and sisters. It was her death dying. Only now with the help of Internet I try to realize it.
I’ll be thankful to all who have any information about them. E-mail me [email protected]
