Maxim,
I need some assistance with this as well, are you able to help?I am looking to trace back my grandfather and further. I have no living family on that side that can assist me.
I don't know much. I have his immigration passenger record and his mothers maiden name but that's all. Says he was born in Seredne, Czechoslovakia, but stated his "race" as Hungarian which was likely true when he came over in 1924, but he was born in 1900 so it was likely Hungary at that time (maybe Austria-Hungary?). His passport was issued in Uzhhorod, which I assume may be the place that his birth certificate is kept too? Others I have found online with the same last name have been of Italian decent so I'm very confused.
