Anyone search Zhitomir Archives?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for information on my great-grandfather (Jewish). He was killed in World War II. His last name was KOZAR/KOZER/KOZIR, and he was born in ROMANOVO in 1905.
Romanovo, or ROMANIV, was part of the Novohrad Volynskyy district in Ukraine, Volhynia province. It later became part of the Zhitomir district.

I have not been able to find any KOZARs on JewishGen.org..
A while back I found a woman from ROMANIV, who arrived in Chicago. Her last name was KOZAR. Unfortunately, I cannot link her to my great-grandfather, because I just don't have enough information on him.
I have a picture of him, a picture of his mother, I know he had a brother who survived the War. I know the father's name, but that's about it.

Has anyone had any luck researching Zhitomir archives?

Thank you!!!
