I think your Brigiton was actually called BRIGIDAU from late 18th century to 1938. Post WW2 it came under Soviet domain and was called Brihidon until 1947. Today this is village Lanivka > Stryj raion/district > Lviv oblast/region.

You might also want to research EWZ Records (1938 Resettlement Records). All ethnic Germans had to prove their German Heritage by submitting to a oral language test
and also filling out a personal questionnaire, listing at least three generations of direct bloodline. These cards list name, place and date of birth, religion, marital status, education, profession, professional training, citizenship, and all relatives in the same group of immigrants. The cards are arranged in alphabetical order based on name pronunciation rather than spelling. There are several collections available thru LDS.

You may already be familiar w/the Galizien German site, dedicated to this specific immigrant group.
