Hi thank you so much for taking the time to read my post. Here is what I know,
my great great grandfather was Michael Komarnitsky (Komarnizki) However, I just found a newspaper article about him from a long time ago. He was a violin maker and he went by Michael Komar. His son, was a violinist named Gregory Komar. One of his daughters, Stephanie was my great grandmother. In the article, it states that he came to the U.S. when he was 21 from Austria. There was a name on a piece of paper given to my mom a while ago, that said he was born 1885 in Bohorodczany, Austria, which I believe is now Ukraine? Does that help? That is about all I know ... Thanks in advance for helping.
Patty
